I had problems with my late 2008 Aluminum Macbook freezing and not waking up from sleep. I went to the apple store and they said it was a problem with my memory. I got an RMA and returned my 4gb (2X2GB) to crucial. Yesterday I received the replacement memory modules. I installed the memory and ran the apple hardware test from the install disc and it said everything was fine. Ever since the upgrade I have had freeze ups of my macbook almost once every half hour. All I can do is to hard reset it. I used the original apple 1GBX2 modules and everything works fine. I don't know if I should return the memory modules again or not. Please advise.

It turns out this problem occurs only when I used both the RAM modules. If I use each by themselves everything is alright and if I use them mixed with one of the 1GB modules that the computer shipped with (an apple RAM) everything is fine then too. So somehow using two crucial 2G modules together is causing the computer to hang almost 5 to 6 times a day.
Moderators please advise on what I should do.
Thanks.

Hi biomorph,
Can you confirm the full CT part number, including extension, from the label of your replacement parts? Also, your full Macbook model details processor, type/ speed, display size etc.
Thanks

Hello, I am also experiencing the same exact issue.
And actually when I go to look for my part numbers/SN, etc I just have a bunch of zeros.

I also had the exact same problem. At first I wasn't sure if it was the memory or something else as I had reinstalled the computer just after adding the memory. However everything started working normally again as soon as I put the original Apple memory chips back in.

cpuguy83, macbert,
Please confirm your full Apple model details and the CT numbers from the Crucial modules. If your System Profiler is not displaying this information, please remove the modules and read from the label so we can get the full extension also.
Thanks
