Hi,
I'm going to get the new 27" iMac 3,4-GHz quad-core Intel Core i7.
I'd like to buy the RAM already, but due to not having a credit card I can't buy it directly.
From a local store I found this:
Part Number: CT2KIT102464BF160B
Module Size: 16GB kit (8GBx2)
Package: 204-pin SODIMM
Feature: DDR3 PC3-12800
Specs: DDR3 PC3-12800 • CL=11 • Unbuffered • NON-ECC • DDR3-1600 • 1.35V • 1024Meg x 64 •
But on the site it states:
This part CT2KIT102464BF160B is not compatible.
I need to buy:
iMac 3.4GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7 (27-inch, Late 2012)
Part Number: CT3650279
Module Size: 16GB kit (8GBx2)
Package: 204-pin SODIMM
Feature: DDR3 PC3-12800
Specs: DDR3 PC3-12800 • CL=11 • Unbuffered • NON-ECC • DDR3-1600 • 1.35V • 1024Meg x 64 •
I cannot find any differences except for the part numbers. So, my question, can I buy CT2KIT102464BF160B without fear of it not working in the new iMac?
Thanks!

Hi jckok,
Both CT3650279 and the part number you have quoted have the exact same specifications. It should work perfectly fine in your system.
I don't know if you are aware but you can order from us directly using bank transfer, which means you don't need a credit card. We also accept debit cards for payment as well.
For the different upgrade options you can have a look at the system HERE
For the different payment options please take a look at our Payments section of the website.

Hello this is my first post and might be my last, but i ordered some memory from crucial when i was thinking i was getting the mac mini late 2012, so anyway i ordered the CT3650286 kit,
now instead of mac mini, i am getting a 2012 imac w/ i7, question, does my memory i already have work in new imac too?
thank you, otherwise i will return and get imac specific memory, i couldnt tell for sure weather the memory worked with the imac too.

Hi Nate,
So I can check correctly for you could you confirm the processor speed and the screen size of your iMac. This will allow me to check the exact model for you to confirm if that memory is compatible.
Once I have this information I would be more than happy to recommend memory for you.

Hi Nate,
I have looked in to this system for you and the memory you ordered for the Mac Mini is the exact same type and speed as the memory you need for the iMac so it will work no problem at all.

Thanks for clarifying that Junket. So does Crucial still guarantee that product will work in the late 2012 iMac even though it doesnt show up in the compatability tool?
