Motherboard not compatible error

Motherboard not compatible error

I'm getting a new error message today, never seen it before:

Motherboard not compatible. Vendor:8086 Model:C00

According to the exception.txt file the exact error is:

System.Exception: Motherboard not compatible. Vendor:8086 Model:C00
at SpecTek.EngDev.Hardware.Motherboard.Init()
at SpecTek.EngDev.Hardware.Motherboard..ctor()
at BallistixUtility.frmMain..ctor()

I haven't changed the motherboard or updated the BIOS, it is an ASUS Z87-Plus running Win8.1 Ultimate.

It was working until today, very strange it would suddenly do this.

I have installed the latest version of the mod utility, both the 64-bit and 32-bit versions give the same error.

Running as administrator has no effect.

I also updated Windows, no change.

Disabled AV (Avast!), no change.

It is odd that it would suddenly occur, I have been running this configuration for over a year now.

Any suggestions?

Re: Motherboard not compatible error

Hi rtangwai,

I am sorry for the issues that you are now experiencing with your RAM. That is very strange that you are only seeing this error now. What memory modules do you have installed? What is the part number on the memory modules? This will read something like BLS4C4G3D1609ES2LX0B.16F.  Thanks in advance for this follow up information.

Re: Motherboard not compatible error

I have exactly the same error running Ballistix Elite DDR4 2666 4x4GB on ASUS Rampage V Extreme. Already checked Win7 64b and Win8 64b and result was the same.

Re: Motherboard not compatible error

Hi bw and rtangwai,

Thanks for your comments.  I am sorry to hear that you're getting an error message on your systems.

Can you confirm, is this error happening when using the MOD utility?  It would be good if you could confirm exactly when this error is showing up.

I will personally look in to this error for you but I will need some more information.  Once I have that, I will let you know where to take it from there.

Re: Motherboard not compatible error

My error went away after restarting a couple of times.

Very strange, I'm keeping an eye on it in case it comes back.
