525GB SSD install connection problem.

525GB SSD install connection problem.

New member, first post. First SSD install in a laptop.
I purchased the 525GB SSD as an upgrade to the installed 256GB SSD mSATA drive.
I checked the drive compatibility on the Crucial site and the drive I bought was listed for the laptop.
This is an upgrade for an HP EliteBook UltraBook Folio 9470m.
I went throught the instllation process, but when it came to installing the drive, I found the current drive is a small mSATA unit. THe bay for the replacement drive exists, but has a verticle connector slot. The new Crucial 525GB drive has a horizontal connector.

Should I have purshaced a different SSD drive or do I need an additional connector?

Thanks for any help.
Stan

I may have found my solution.  See the pic with connector circled.  I think this will make the SATA drive connection in the drive bay.  There is a drive bracket and connector part from HP for the laptop, but it is currently, out of stock.  I search the web and found the same parts by a 3rd party vendor.

Can anyone confirm my solution?

We do not see your picture since it's still under moderation. Are you talking about this kind of HDD connector?  http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/HP-EliteBook-Folio-9470m/laptop-disassembly-04.jpg

Yes, I believe this kind of connector should work. And it is good to have drive bracket too, in order to secure the drive properly Smiley Happy
