Crucial MX300 525GB under reporting size in windows 7

O.K This drive is fresh out of the box on a windows 7 system, nothing has been done to it yet BUT disk manager is reporting 489.5GB and this is a 525GB drive.

Is this unit faulty?

I would expect windows to report 525GB and then have it drop a bit when the file system was put on it but expecting a 525GB drive and getting 489.5GB - not flash

The unit is not faulty. This is how Windows display and recalulate drives capacity to gibibytes.

Right click the drive in Windows Explorer and choose 'Properties' - you will see both capacities 525GB and 489GiB Smiley Tongue
