Crucial Storage Executive

Re: Crucial Storage Executive

Issue is resolved, thanks to Stanly001. Post found here http://forum.crucial.com/t5/Crucial-SSDs/The-problem-with-MU02-for-M550/td-p/172413

Here is the fix from Stanly001's post.

Steps That Fixed My Issue

- Entered the BIOS and turned off the "Secure Boot" option and set the boot from UEFI to legacy.

- Rebooted and the system reported it could not find a bootable device.

- Entered the BIOS again and reset boot to UEFI.  The system rebooted properly.

Re: Crucial Storage Executive

I think it is using local version rather than the one installed by you, see here.

Re: Crucial Storage Executive

Any Guru or someone that knows,

Should the partition at the end of the disk, for over-provisioning, be a Primary partition or a Logical partition?  I know a bootable OS has to go on Primary, and plain old data like music or videos can go on Logical partitions.  But I searched everywhere and can't find out which would be better or which partition has to be used for the Over Provisioning provided via Crucial Storage Executive.  Thanks in advance.

Re: Crucial Storage Executive

This version of the Crucial Storage Executive [3.38] is running on an older version Of JAVA from 2015.
It will therefore get stuck [or hang or do somersaults] at the splash-screen eventually.

To get it working again...
Navigate to the 'C:\Program Files\Crucial\Crucial Storage Executive\java\bin' folder,
and delete [empty] everything in the 'bin' folder.
Leave the 'lib' folder or anything else intact...
...and get out of there.

Deleting the contents of the 'bin' folder,
will 'encourage' the Crucial Storage Executive to use the latest Java Runtime Environment,
that is hopefully installed in your system.
[at the time of typing this, it's version 'jre1.8.0_121'].

The latest Java RE version can be downloaded here >>> h t t p s://java.com/en/download/

Re: Crucial Storage Executive

Not sure if this has been asked, but do you ever plan to make this a bootable program like some other vendors of drives with crypto-erase/PSID/SMART/etc. features?  If not, I'm going to make some custom Windows PEs with this incorporated into it and some other Opal/drive backup and sanitation tools for users.
