This firmware update applies to the MX300 SSD (all form factors), and should not be applied to any other Crucial SSD model. How do I install this on a Mac? Can I boot from the .iso image provided online- it looks to be windows specific. Update- I burned the ISO to a DVD and attempted to boot. All I got was a blank screen with a blinking DOS cursor and no disk activity. I'm on OS X 10.12.4.

Downgrading firmware isn't typically a supported procedure. What problems are you having with the new firmware?

I have the 525Gb M.2 variant of this drive and applied the new firmware yesterday.
Running disk benchmarks on it I've noticed the write speeds have slowed significantly.
I used to get the advertised speeds of approx. 515Mb/s, but now they peak at approx. 485Mb/s
Read speeds are still conistent at around 535Mb/s.
Anyone else noticed this at all?

To be honest, I'd say such a small difference was within the margin of error of drive benchmarking. Which is far, far from an exact science. Especially if the drive is a system disk and is handling all the OS work and your background programs.
Also, are you comparing from immediately before the update, after the drive was used and dirtied up some? Or from a benchmark you took when the drive was shiny and new?

It's a secondary drive that houses some Steam/Origin games, so it's not an OS drive.
I ran the benchmarks the other day and was still getting 515Mb/s writes.
It hasn't got near 500 since the firmware update.....

Ok update Disable hardware bitlocker on your drives before you do this update. I had to remove power from my pc before they were useable again (all of them showed bitlocker raw) and on one that did not even work...becaue on that drive i tried to reformat it while it was in that state and it became write protected (less than 3 weeks old by the way) for a while. But after about an hour it started to work again.
Also what does flexcap not work with hardware bitlocker?

I have now the same problems with new firmware as with old and disabled momentum cache.
I have an old ASUS Pundit P4-P5N9300 and a MX300 SSD on Windows 10 home (latest updates)
When browsing with firefox after 10 minutes of using the system freezes.
Is it really not possible to downgrade the firmware or is it possible to enable the momentum cache on an other way (registry)?
