Firmware revision MU04 for the Crucial MX200 (all form factors) is now available. This firmware update applies to the MX200 SSD (all form factors), and should not be applied to any other Crucial SSD model. Currently, the firmware update is only available through the Crucial Storage Executive. An iso (manual boot file) will be made available later today 6/30/2016 at the link below:
Release Date: 06/30/2016
Additional details can be found in the firmware guide.

Hi Katana, thank you for the quick release of versioin MU04! I have installed it in Ubuntu with Micron's Storage Executive (just because Crusial offers no Linux-version). No problem. Please consider about releasing Satorage Executive for Linux or promote to use Micron's version.

What method do you recommend to update (Crucial Storage Executive or iso (manual boot) and whether in this case the differences?
MU04 includes MU03 fixes?

Personal preference really,
Storage Exec is much easier but does require you to install Storage Exec if you haven't already.
The firmware updates include all previous fixes. You can just install the latest.

I've just bought an MX200 because I love crucial SSD (I have an M4 120GB and a BX200 240GB too). I've installed it in my Intel z97 rig, updated the firmware MU04 and migrated my ArchLinux install from BX200 to MX200.
During the boot I notice a lot of freeze and errors about the NCQ support. This is the first SSD that shows me this problem and it's only linux related, because Windows 10 works flawlessly.
This is my MB z97 fatal1ty professional. I think the problem is in the firmware and I really need NCQ support under linux.
failed command: SEND FPDMA QUEUED ata8.00: supports DRM functions and may not be fully accessible ata8.00: cmd 64/01:00:00:00:00/00:00:00:00:00/a0 tag 0 ncq 512 out
SMART is perfect, the SSD is not damaged. I hope you will fix this because i can't fully utilize this disk and I cannot TRIM it.
Just ask if you need more info.
Thank you in advance.

Update with iso went without any problems here and so far I haven't had any issues. I'm running linux here.
As I have noted in a previous fw update thread, your update iso could be improved in the following ways:
- Make the iso hybrid such that you can write the iso directly to a usb drive (I'm thinking about using dd on linux) and be able boot it without having to use third party programs to create a bootable usb drive.
- Make the iso also bootable in UEFI systems without csm compatibility module enabled.

I have a Crucial CT250MX200SSD1 that I updated to MU03, using Storage Exec, a while ago. To do this I had to download the .zip and upload it through Storage Exec, because we have content restrictions on our proxy and Storage Exec was not able to pull it directly from you. I have just downloaded the mx200-MU04-bootable.zip and am not able to upload it through Storage Exec, this time. I am getting the following error:
Uploaded file does not appear to be a valid firmware update package.
I am running Storage Exec Version: 3.30.022016.10. I have retried the download several times and each time it downloads without any errors. The file is always 11,157KB.
