I am trying to upgrade my ACER notebook with M500 connected to the DELOCK 62434 adapter (IDE to mSATA). The SSD is getting very hot and at the certain point during installation of Windows 7 my PC makes one beep and freeze.
Is M500 compatible with IDE to mSATA converter?

crucial_m500, does my post apply to your situation? Is your Acer HDD pre-2006?

Hi crucial_M500,
First of all I'm sorry to hear that you are having problems with your mSATA SSD.
I have had a look in to this and we would not recommend the M500 as compatible with an mSATA to IDE converter. You would lose all the functions that you get from SATA and also the speed would very limited as it's still running through IDE.
If you ordered the drive direct from Crucial within the last 45 days we would be more than happy to arrange a refund for you. You can contact the customer service team for your region at the following links.
