I bought the MX300 525gb over the Xmas. I've had it for a month and a half but I've had to repair/verify game files in Steam far more than usual. In particular Doom seems to fail a lot and I've had to repair it several times.
I have a ton of "The device, \Device\Harddisk1\DR1, has a bad block." error messages in Event Viewer. Heres SMART info: http://imgur.com/zqDAzY9
The stats for 187 seem particularly troubling. Seems my drive was defective from factory. Is this enough for an RMA?

I'd suggest RMA. Data is corrupting, Event VIewer is logging errors, SMART attributes 1,5,187 and 196 all indicate errors. if you get a low number in a couple of those attributes and that number stays stable and the drive is otherwise fine then it's not too much of concern. It just indicates a bad block or two that the drive has mapped out and drives are designed to do this. But if you're getting data corrupting and/or those numbers are increasing over time then there's definately something wrong.
