Have you checked for a computer BIOS update?
You could try different versions of the Intel Rapid Storage Tech driver. I used to lose my C300 when resuming from sleep on a previous computer with certain versions of it.

Thanks for the suggestions.
I have the latest BIOS. I can't install the Intel driver because it doesn't support BitLocker, or at least the last version I can find that supports this chipset doesn't. Intel don't seem interested in releasing a fix. I use the basic Microsoft AHCI driver.

How about trying different power plan, 'High performance' for example? What chipset are you using?

What difference will the power plan make? It happens every time I turn the machine off or put it to sleep, not when it is in use.

I should add that I have a couple of Samsung drives on the same controller and they are fine. It's a Crucial specific problem.
How can I get this escalated? It's a firmware issue, it needs fixing.
