Can anyone help?
When i plug in my Crucial M4 2.5 inch 256GB SSD into the USB port of my laptop, i couldn't find a drive letter for it. Why?
My OS is Win 7 home premium.
I check the device manager and noted that the driver for the SSD is working properly.
Thank in advance for your advice.

Does this usb port works correctly with other drives/other devices? I would check if the usb drive enclosure you are using isn't faulty. That kind of issue happened to me few times.
Or maybe the drive is empty and you have to partition it and format it?

Thanks for your reply.
I pretty sure the hard disk enclosure is not faulty. I have used aother HDD to test the enclosure. Nothing wrong with it.
I have also attempt to format the SSD at the disk management under the 'Computer Management' menu. But i cannot see the SSD being listed in the disk mangement screen.
Any more ideas?

It's normal. If the drive is new then you need to initilise it. This is only if you intend to use it as a data drive. if you plan to use it as an OS drive then this will be done for you during the Windows setup.
