I believe it's too high my friend. Most SSD's have a operating range from 0-70c. 65c is on edge. What temps was on your old HDD?

Seems normal for a laptop - others have posted similar temps. Laptops are crammed with heat generating components and not much air flow.
Like any other PC component, your operating environment matters. For me, there's a 10C difference between one I have in an aluminium drive bay with a heat transfer pad and one that isn't.
As said above, the operating temps are up to 70C. After which the drive will lower its performance a little until it cools.

That seems quite hot to me.
For a HP BL460c Server Blade with 2 x 15000 rpm SAS drives:
# smartctl -A -d cciss,0 /dev/cciss/c0d0 | grep Temp Current Drive Temperature: 30 C Drive Trip Temperature: 65 C # smartctl -A -d cciss,1 /dev/cciss/c0d0 | grep Temp Current Drive Temperature: 30 C Drive Trip Temperature: 65 C
I'm going to need to install smartmontools on a laptop for a fair comparison. Perhaps it could be wrong SMART data as sometime the drive provides a normalised value instead of absolute values. Some examples are listed here:

Like I said, it's what other laptop users have posted, so I'm just assuming its normal.
Mine are currently at 32C and 37C but they're in a roomy desktop case and limited by sata 2 so they ain't gonna get hot.

Perhaps some people have an extra hot running laptop or something.

The posts so far as all from msata users so I dunno if that's a factor? I'd have though the cased in 2.5" drives would be hotter than the open msata drives. Unless the drive casing is doubling as a heatsink? It is made of aluminium according to reviews...
Actually the msata drives are smaller aren't they? I guess the components can be more spaced out in a 2.5" drive which probably helps.

Perhaps it is more of a problem with mSATA and where there is limited cooling / airflow in the laptop.
The following is for the Intel NUC which can be fitted with an mSATA SSD including Crucial and other vendors.
http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/sb/CS-034326.htm
The article mentions system fan speed adjustment and other solutions.
In some cases, the fan speed adjustment does not resolve the issue or can increase fan noise beyond an acceptable volume. To fix the issue, Intel developed a hardware-based solution using a thermal pad. The thermal pad is placed between the mSATA SSD and the bottom of the chassis to improve the thermal performance.
Perhaps there are thermal pads available for some of the laptops too.
