I had a Crucial 256 SSD in my Thinkpad T60p for over a year. Loved it. Just replaced it with an M500. Now the computer will go to sleep normally, but it won't wake. The little lights indicating activity come on, but no screen.

My W520 quit toing to sleep or waking about a year ago. There are a number of ideas on the net, but none that have been able to work for me, so I simply have disabled the sleep settings.
I could not attribute the loss of the sleep and wake function to any change in the hardware on the machine at all, so I am not certain that the change to the new SSD is your cause, Could be, but the problem with sleep/wake in a Lenovo is so prevalent that it is likely hard to prove. Good luck. Hopefully one of the net ideas will work for you, as they do for many people, just not my machine.

StevenD, are you protecting your M500 with data encryption? On my laptop and with my SSD (not M500) I can use either data encryption or sleep mode. I am not able to use data encryption and put the laptop in sleep mode at the same time ;-)

And to add another variable, my PC won't wake from sleep wihth selected versions of the Intel RST sata drivers but will others. Sleep is a bit of a pain.
