Support for M4-CT256M4SSD2?

Hi, I have a Crucial M4-CT256M4SSD2 and cannot seem to find any fiormware updates for it, nor can the Sanitize option recognize it in the Storage Executive.  Any clues as to why for either point?

Thanks all.

The M4 is too old to be supported by Storage Executive I'm afraid.

Hello ccvortex,

Thank you for your question.

The M4 drive does not work with Storage Executive.  To update the firmware on your M4, please visit our SSD firmware update page on our website here: http://uk.crucial.com/gbr/en/support-ssd

If you do have any questions at all, please don’t hesitate to ask and I would be happy to help.

Thanks, I tried that. Used the M4 SSD download and get this error.

Re: Support for M4-CT256M4SSD2?

Hello ccvortex,

Thank you for your reply.  It is possible that you have the most up to date firmware version on your M4.  To check which firmware revision you currently have on your drive, follow the steps outlined in the Crucial.com knowledge base:

For Windows PC:
http://forum.crucial.com/t5/Solid-State-Drives-SSD-Knowledge/How-to-Find-Your-Firmware-Revision-Wind...

Please let me know what version you currently have and we can take it from there.  If you do have any questions, please just let me know.

Re: Support for M4-CT256M4SSD2?

@crashoverride, I have been using 000F firmware for years with no issues, as far as I know this revision is not affected by any 'power-on hours' bug so you can possibly continue using it.

What is your OS version and motherboard model? Did you try to use Windows updater or Manual Boot File updater?
