Upgrade firmware gives "Unhandled exception" error!!!

Upgrade firmware gives "Unhandled exception" error!!!

My operating system is Windows 7 64 bit and when I try to use the Crucial SSD Firmware Update Utility I get the following message:-

"Unhandled exception has occurred in your application.  If you click continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue.  If you click Quit, the application will close immediately.

Object reference not set to an instance of an object"

I have tried clicking continue but the application simply closes immediately.

The update utility is located in the root of my C drive.

Can anyone please help me to resolve this issue?

Re: Upgrade firmware gives "Unhandled exception" error!!!

Hi Chevalier,

I'm sorry to hear that you are having issues updating the firmware on your SSD drive.

Can you confirm what firmware version you currently have installed on the drive?  If it's 0309 then you don't have to upgrade to 000F unless you use a SAS expander on your SSD drive.  If you are using it in a normal system you don't have to upgrade beyond 0309.

If you do still have to upgrade I would recommend trying the bootable CD option.  Please visit the following link and follow the instructions for the bootable CD option.

This will allow you to upgrade the firmware on your system.

Many thanks for the prompt response.  My current firmware is 0309 so I shall take your advice and not upgrade because I am NOT using an SAS expander.
