DDR3L-1600 SODIMM Memory for Mac vs DDR3L-1600 SODIMM for laptops

Could anybody tell me the difference between Memory for Mac and Laptops:

Here's and example:

Crucial 8GB Kit (2 x 4GB) DDR3L-1600 SODIMM Memory for Mac CT3373649  $85.99

  • DDR3 PC3-12800 • CL=11 • Unbuffered • NON-ECC • DDR3-1600 • 1.35V • lead free • halogen free • for Mac

Crucial 8GB Kit (2 x 4GB) DDR3L-1600 SODIMM CT3305341  $77.99

  • DDR3 PC3-12800 • CL=11 • Unbuffered • NON-ECC • DDR3-1600 • 1.35V

Besides the price and "enviromental advantages" BS,  I don't see any electrical difference.

    Thank you

Re: DDR3L-1600 SODIMM Memory for Mac vs DDR3L-1600 SODIMM for laptops

@mochica Thanks for contacting us today. These parts are very similar as far as specs go. However, CT3305341 is a high density part. It has 8 little black chips on the module. CT3373649 is low density part and has 16 little black chips on the board. The Apple RAM has a premium too, as it does go through more testing to ensure it is compatible with Mac systems. What system will you be putting these modules in? I can look up this memory and see if matters what the density is.

I'm planning to install it in a MBP mid 2012. It's an Intel plataform so I wonder how special this memory is...
As far of the number of chips, as long it meets the thickness there shouldn't be any problem.
