27" iMac mid-2011. Processor 2.7 GHz Intel Core i5

Hi

Our computer has 12 GB 1067 MHz DDR3 RAM, and we also have a 3Tb Time Capsule.

What is Solid State Drive and would that be better?

Yes I'm no whizz!

Cheers

Ann

Hi Ann,

Thank you for your message.  I would be more than happy to look in to this for you.

We have a great article on our website that explains exactly what an SSD is what and what benefits it can bring for your computer.

You can see that on our website here:  http://uk.crucial.com/gbr/en/storage-ssd-buying-guide

I have also looked in to that model for you and I can see that it can support up to 32GB of memory over 4 memory slots.  You can see all the compatible memory upgrades here: http://uk.crucial.com/gbr/en/compatible-upgrade-for/Apple/imac-%2821*5-and-27-inch%2C-mid-2011%29-im...

Are you just looking for an extra boost in performance from your iMac Ann?  I would be more than happy to answer any questions that you have at all.
