How Much Memory Can I really Install

I have a Dell Inspiron 1521

AMD Athlon 64 2X TK-55 1.79 GHz

Inspiron Bios A06

4GB 2x2 DDR2

 

Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit Service Pack 1

 

Can I install the 16GB as listed on the Crucial website?

Hi BobbyLGorden,

 

I have had a look in to this system and the maximum memory it can support is 4GB over two memory slots.

 

You can see the compatible memory HERE.

 

The amounts listed on the page you linked to are the maximum that each operating system can support however the amount of memory your computer can use is based on the motherboard first and then the operating system.  This means your system can support 4GB.
