I ordered a mem upgrade for my Vaio earlier in 2013, and when it came, it did not work. Over the next several months, I had one thing after another come up in my family that prevented me from troubleshooting this fully, until now. I am obviously not looking for a refund, but am looking for any possible way to make the RAM work that I bought.
I have a Sony Vaio VPCEC4CFX/BJ laptop (came with 4GB (2X2GB) with "PC3 - 10600" marked on them). The memory recommender here only listed the model number without the trailing "/BJ", if that makes any difference.
I ordered and received the 2 modules recommended for the model I have: 2-4GB DDR-1333 SODIMM 1.35V 204 PIN kit of 2 CT51264BF1339J.M8FED is what reads on my invoice (order#29679981).
My computer's BIOS shows 8 Gb installed. But Windows 7 Home Premium x64 will not load. Neither of the chips work alone in the machine either/in any configuration. Windows refuses to start, even in Safe Mode.

I am sorry for the issues you are experiencing with your RAM. It does appear that these modules are the compatible memory modules for your system and should work in the system. It seems very strange that neither of these are working on their own either. It could be an issue with the density of these modules in your system and the best alternative may be for us to set up an RMA and replace these modules with CT2KIT51264BF1339 the low density version of this part. Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.

The new (differing density?) memory that just arrived has apparently resolved my issue. My laptop booted first try with the new modules and the BIOS and Windows (Win7 Home Premium x64) both report the full 8GB. Of course, the fact that Windows even booted was a miracle. LOL!
