Understand crucial memory scan

I ran a system scan and it resulted in the following:

  • Maximum Memory:16GB
  • Slots:1 (1 bank of 1)
  • [4GB] [2GB]

What does 1 bank of 1 mean? I want to have the maximum memory do I need to replace the existing memory or could I just extend it?

Thank you

Re: Understand crucial memory scan

Hello ink208,

Thank you for your message.

Generally a reading like that means that it has two slots but one of the modules is soldered to the system and can't be replaced.  Please confirm the make and model of your computer and I will double check exactly what mmeory is guaranteed to be compatible.

If you do have any other questions at all, please don't hesitate to ask and I would be happy to help.

Re: Understand crucial memory scan

@ink208 Thanks for your computer information. After pulling your system specs up I can confirm that your system does have one slot of memory for RAM, but the scanner does seem to show that you have two slots. Our internal information shows only one slot for RAM.  Could you please post the link for your system scan as well? This will help us with our research on this matter.
