Worms 2: Armageddon released on Android! This is generally considered the best in the Worms series.

Cover Orange finally on Android! I've been wanting this ported from iOS ever since I've had Android.
They Need To Be Fed 2 - more of the great platformer. Controls really well.
Boulder Dash-XL - very slick official Boulder Dash game.
Scribblenauts out on Amazon though I'm awaiting the google play version myself.

Symphony of the Origin just got an english translation. They make loads of these games but this one is a step up from their previous games. In the description it says it's their first RPG designed from the ground up for smartphones. It's very nice looking, touch controls, trash mobs are visible (and hence random encounters are avoidable)
All their RPG's are 90% off down to £0.99/$0.99 per game this week: https://play.google.com/store/apps/developer?id=KEMCO_GAMES+%28Kotobuki+Solution+Co.,+Ltd.%29

Not a game but Swype is finlaly leaving beta: http://beta.swype.com/
Free versions will cease to work in September. But if you buy it now you get it at a discounted launch price of only 65p. Not sure what it will cost when the promotion finishes but it looks like being a good idea for fans to get it early.

Cosmo Battles - a nice turn based strategy war game with a variety of upgradable units.
Grooh - a puzzle game in which you have to destroy bits of the floor (that chain react) in such a way as you still have a route to the exit when you are done.
Hills of Glory - similar to a tower defense game but you have one tower from which you control a variety of weapons using different touch gestures.

Wimp: Who Stole My Pants? - new out. This is an incredibly slick and smooth puzzle platformer. First few levels are free. If you have the slightest interest in platform games then you must give this one a go.
If you download and run this game today it will unlock all the levels for free which are normally an IAP as part of some promotion.

Magic the Gathering 2014 free* on Android! Note that it is a 1.2GB download. You'll want wifi rather than data charges.
Glad to see this on droid as its getting as bad as Football Manager having to buy each seasons updates on Steam!
*Or not! There's a £6.54 IAP to play multiplayer (which isn't even online!), and single player custom games and challenge modes. Though you do appear to get at least some of the campaigns free. Kind of a cool port, but basically a demo for an expensive game missing a rather crucial feature: online play!
Other recent games:
One Tap Hero - a nice and free platform game where everything is done just by tapping the screen: jumping, climbing ladders, interacting with objects.
The levels are interesting and varied (far more so than the typical auto-running tap to jump game) with puzzle platform elements.
Light Bot - a programming theory based puzzle game. I think it's kind of fun but I'm a programmer so I can't say how much anyone without any interest in programmer will enjoy it. It should be a safe bet though for anyone who likes logic puzzles I'd think.
Where's My Mickey? - a new game for fans of Where's My Water and Where's My Perry
Scribblenauts Remix - I had to trick my phone into thinking it'ss a Nexus 7 to be allowed to download this one. Works fine on a phone though
Other notable Android gaming news:
Plants Vs Zombies (play store version) got a major update and now includes all the content of the desktop version such as the Zen Garden and mini games. I like the mini games where you get to play as the zombie side!

Starcontrol 2 is available in the Play store, under the name The Ur-Quan Masters. And it's free.
That was all I wanted to say.
