I bought 2 additional Gig of Ram because over time Skype was causing my desktop (IBM Think Center 8189) to take a very long time to boot up. Sometimes 30 minutes or more when it was in the Start Up Menu. With the added Ram - giving me a total now of 3.5Gig & Skype in the Start Up it takes about 12 minutes and everything else runs really slow. If I take Skype out of start up it boots up in 4 minutes and everything runs great.
I found a Skype forum which says the newest version is a huge memory hog. Does anyone know how to go backward to an older version or can you give me an ideas about using Skype where it won't take all my operating memory??
Thanks.

I've also found that my laptop is MUCH slower after installing Skype. Not sure what to do about it, as my girlfriend will kill me if i remove Skype!
Hopefully Skype will release an update tp resolve the issue. We've both thrown RAM at it to try and sort it, but no dice!
