I reached the 5000h BCOD.
Try the windows7 updater application, after the bios load, I got an error grldr.mbr
Try with a usb flash key, it doesn't start even if I put it first on boot.
With a CD, I got something going on after the bios but when it try to find eligible drive:
Searching for eligible SSDs...
This tool cannot update the following
Firmware Revision 0009
Micron drive, Index: 0
No eligiible SSDs were found.
My motherboard: P9X79 Pro, UEIF bios, windows 7.
Try different sata port, the SSD Caching, SATA 6gb and SATA 3Gb.

You could try to use some intermediary version first. 000F or 0309 perhaps? I can recall that worked for some users. Take a look here.

Yes it works to 040H. I updated 0009 to 0309, 0309 to 000F and 000F to 040F.
It found the drive but during the update
Curent Firmware is: 0009
15 minutes and still flashing. Of course I am afraid to reboot manually but I did. It started win7 no problem and with great suprise, it did update to 0309.
An error occurred during Firmware update
Ok bad start, I decided to give it another try.
Current firmware is: 000F
Ok... Looks like it worked somehow.
Current firmware revision is: 040H
Drive Reset command issued.
This one went like a charm, no problem A+.
Still doesn't find an eligible drives.
I hope 040H is enough to fix my BCOD. I am gonna send a message later tonight.
Hey thanks bogdan, it helps. I am not at 070H but only one step behing now.

I believe it would be better to get to 070H. I would try first Intel SATA port with IDE mode perhaps. No other drives connected :-)
