Hi, I have a Dell XPS420 and recently upgraded to Win7 from Vista 32bit. I decided to try the 64bit version first as I wanted to add more RAM, currently have 3GB. But when I ran the Crucial System Scanner it still only said the max RAM I could install was 4GB but the system would only be able to use about 3.25GB, which was the same as when I tried the 32bit version. I wonder if anyone would have any idea why this should be and anyway I might get around it.
Cheers

Yep, that seems to be correct.
"Each memory slot can hold DDR2 PC2-5300,DDR2 PC2-6400 with a maximum of 1GB per slot."
So it'll take 4x 1GB or 2x 2GB sticks. Limitation of the chipset/board i'm afraid.
