What does the Q stand for?

Hi,

what is the difference between CT51272BB1067Q and CT51272BB1067 (for example)?

What does the Q stand for?

Thanks.

Re: What does the Q stand for?

[ Edited ]

For our Registered ECC memory the letter at the end of the part number shows the rank of the module. An S at the end means it is Single Ranked. If there is no letter at the end of the number the module is Dual Ranked, or the rank is undefined for the module. A Q at the end stands for Quad Rank.

So CT51272BB1067Q is a Quad Ranked module, and CT51272BB1067 is not.

I'm sorry, I forgot to add this earlier: The two modules above are not interchangeable. Some servers will only work with one of them, which is why we recommend that you alwasy use our memory selector when ordering memory.
