Hi, i've recently started an RMA process Due to one stick of one kit of 2 kits of Balistics Tracer ddr2 memory has failed ( 4 sticks 1 has failed ) , is there anything that can be done to ensure i have compatibe memory in this system or after the rma will i still have to upgrade, my setup ,to repopulate my board with enthusiast grade memory,
as one stick of just about anything is useless to me and will not be compatible with the existing configuration,
A 20 dollar credit for an 90 dollar kit is not acceptable,i have 3 DDR 3 setups running allready have memory.
my DDR2 setup that ran this Balistics Tracer ,is a windowed setup so i wish enthusiast grade ,Not consumer grade.memory to be installed,at least in a 2 stick kit.
so with this kit returned ,how much extra will it cost me to get a kit of your current flagship memory? even DDR3 would be acceptable provided i can use it.
soory for the long post.

Hi Boilerhog,
Unfortunately we no longer provide DDR2 Ballistix Tracer memory so it would be exchange for our closest memory at the time of return.
As there is no longer a Ballistix Performance range available for DDR2 we would exchange it for the best possible memory that will work in your system.
As the memory market can change prices on a daily basis I would not be able to post prices but if you advise what system you are looking for memory for then I would be happy to recommend memory for you.
I am sorry that your memory has developed a fault and we will arrange an exchange for you all you have to do is contact our customer service team direct HERE.

Hi Junket.
i've allready started the rma and told them that a ddr3 replacement would be fine,
i'm just trying to find out what they intend to replace it with,I still have a couple of DDR 2 Setup based on the nforce 680i ,780i chipset, but i also have multiple setup based on DDR3 ,3 X 790i nforce chipset systerms, and an intel X48 chipset system based on the Gigabyte X48-DQ6 motherboard,
Unfortunately all are Windowed, Enthusiast ,Gaming rigs, so consumer based, (no ht spreader,) plain memory in a single stick is not much use as ,i would have to purchase more to fully populate a board, I am Considering a 16 gig kit purchase ,or 2 currently.but i'm waitng to see ,what crucial ,is intending.
I don't really wish to send a 90 dollar kit, to receive a 20 dollar credit ,or a single stick of 2 gig of basic memory, for the 20 bucks and shipping ,i'll keep the stick i have.
could use it for testing i guess, but the stick of good tracer i have can do that.and i have others.
I would gladly send 20 bucks for a stick of this memory from a kit that was returned to you via rma ,if possible ,which would put this kit back and would have 4 sticks again, as i do have 3 such kits ,one kit is in a friends rig ,i don't wish to try getting it back.
Again, i'm sorry for the long post.when i find out what i need to know i'm gone thankyou.

Hi Boilerhog,
I have had a look in to this and there seems to be a few different e-mails back and forth from yourself and the customer support team.
I suggest calling them directly toll free (US an Canada only) 800-336-8915. This would be the quickest way to confirm exactly what memory you need and what memory we can exchange it with.
I'm actually based in the UK office so I would not be able to confirm exactly what memory we would exchange it for but if you do call direct we will get this resolved for you.

Hi Junket, yes, we are making progress, however a little slowly.it seems that the memory i prefer is out of stock, but i am willing to wait untill stock has been replaced, and i can then receive , a version of enthusiast,Tracer memory that is acceptable. i don't mind if the current system i'm running is not compatible with current stock as i regularly build and rebuild . ,and my tracers that i'm returning did not come from my current system, so an x68/x79 version of tracers would be fine,as i plan another build soon.hey ,Crucial can help me decide some of this build if thats acceptable.
