A problem with Ballistix® Sport LT DDR4 SODIMM RAM

Hi!

I’ve just bought two sticks of Ballistix Sport LT 16GB DDR4-2666 SODIMM RAM (BLS16G4S26BFSD). While the packaging as well as the product flayer states DDR4-2666 CL16 (16-18-18), the highest actual JEDEC speed is only DDR4-2400 CL16 (16-16-16). See the screenshot attached. Unfortunately, my laptop (Lenovo Y530) does not support custom XMP profiles, so I’m stuck with DDR4-2400. I bought the product under the impression that it is actually compatible with JEDEC 1333 MHz timings, therefore my laptop would benefit from this upgrade. Is there a solution (perhaps, flashing SPD) or should I just return the RAM?RAM.png

Looks like I'm gonna have to return those sticks. Smiley Sad

Wouldn’t it be less confusing if Crucial just labeled this product as DDR4-2400 CL16 with an XMP DDR4-2666 CL16 capability?
