Cannot sanitize drive M4-CT128M4SSD2 with Crucial Storage Executive

I'm currently trying to sanitize some of my old SSDs so I can get rid of them, but the Crucial Storage Executive tool is not working. Whenever I click on "Sanitize Drive", I'm told "No Drives Found Supporting Sanitize", and specifically for the Crucial SSD it states "Command is not supported". Same problem arises if I click "PSID Revert", but it instead says "Encryption is not supported".

Updated the SSD firmware to 070H; what could be the problem? Note that this is not my boot drive.

Hi Alenux55,

M4 model is not supported by Crucial Storage Executive.

In order to erase the content of the drive similar way to CSE sanitize, you should 'ATA secure erase' the drive. This can be done for example with a bootable PartedMagic linux distribution and the last free version can be downloaded from MajorGeeks site. Make sure to choose proper drive since it's entire content will be erased in just few seconds.
