The computer came loaded with a program called HP Recovery Manager (find it by Start Search for Programs and Files and enter "Recovery Manager"). Run Recovery Manager. The last option in the R hand menu column will
"Remove Recovery Partition"
Once I removed HP_RECOVERY(D and rebooted my system, the cloning successfully completed.
I switched the new drive for the old drive and booted right up. Everything worked as before except sound. Somehow, the sound drivers had become corrupted during the cloning. An easy fix was provided at
