I want to swap my dell's 1 tb hdd with a new 1tb mx500
if I clone my dell hdd to the new crucial ssd and place it in the existing hdd cage will the cables from the removed hdd fit into the mounted crucial SSD??
Somewhat confused as there was a power cable AND a data cable plugged into the old hdd
What type of cable will be needed to accomplish enabling power and data transfer?

The hard drive cables should work just fine on a SATA SSD. If your original drive was a desktop 3.5" drive you will need an adapter to mount the SSD properly in the sled.

I have an XPS 8920 and I put a 1 TB MX300 into the old drive slot and moved the old drive to the second bottom left slot for my backup drive. As noted in the other reply you will need the 3 1/2 inch adapter for the drive slot, but the cables work fine. I did have to buy a sata cable for my second drive if you consider having a second drive. I used Easeus To Do Backup and cloned the drive and had no problems.
