Crucial MX500 M2 SSD not detected in bios

I have a Gigabyte H370 Aorous Gaming 3 motharboad, I tried installing my m2 ssd in the slot closest to the CPU but it doesn’t seem to be detected in my bios. I have updated my bios to the latest version.

I can’t seem to find any setting in the bios that can help with this.

Can anyone please help?

Re: Crucial MX500 M2 SSD not detected in bios

That board does support SATA M.2 drives, so the MX500 is compatible with it. The system also supports PCIe and looking at the user manual only one of the M.2 slots supports SATA drives.

1 x M.2 connector (Socket 3, M key, type 2242/2260/2280/22110 PCIe x4/
x2 SSD support) (M2M_32G)
- 1 x M.2 connector (Socket 3, M key, type 2242/2260/2280 SATA and PCIe
x2 SSD support) (M2P_16G)

So I'm going to guess you have your drive installed in the M.2 slot that only supports PCIe drives, so try switching to the other one.

Also ensure you're not using a SATA port that's reserved for the M.2 slot. Many boards that support M.2 SATA have a channel reserved for a slot, so if you have a SATA device plugged in to the wrong port, you may not be able to use the M.2 slot.
