Is my SSD Crucial 250 GB BX100 faulty? Smart readings help.

I wouldn't worry about this. Typically, on each new SSD, I run a benchmark (to confirm if the speeds are within accepted range), HD Tune error scan (just an old habit from HDDs old times), and drive long self-test (take a look here).

Yep.

The first one is actively a good thing - the more the better.  That's basically your reserve

The second one is normal for all SSD's

For the third one, you'll find much in google explaining what ECC is.  But if you;re not interested in the technicalities - then suffice to say it's not a problem

Why do you think it qualifies for RMA? You are checking SMART data of the drive, what Crucial Storage Executive says about drive's health? You can check and confirm SMART status with other tools like CrystalDiskInfo Smiley Happy

Crucial Executive said drive is 100% healthly , but said this:

Valid Spare Blocks Current Value 71 Spare Blocks
Initial Invalid Blocks Current Value 20 Bad Blocks
Hardware ECC Recovered Current Value 184 Corrected ECC

Also other user with Bx100 said the same here:

Re: Is my SSD Crucial 250 GB BX100 faulty? Smart readings help.

I believe targetbsp gave you best possible and simple explanation in #12.

The other user said he can see a value recorded for SMART attribute no 195. But did he have any problem with the drive?

Honestly I think these are normal values for BX100 model. I would not RMA this drive because I see no reason for this. Moreover, I don't have BX100 but I would like to have it, some users reported it can be even better that MX200 model. Really, it is up to you, it seems you don't even started to use the drive... Do you have any return time window with the seller you bought the drive from?

Hardware ECC recovered should be 0 ?

Re: Is my SSD Crucial 250 GB BX100 faulty? Smart readings help.

Who said so? Smiley Happy I am sorry, but I feel you would like to RMA the drive anyway, for some other reason. You don't like it somehow, or you would like to have different model... It is really up to you. I would not RMA this drive because I see no reason for this.
