Nope, it's fine.  SSD's will have factory bad blocks and like any storage or data transfer they will Error Correct.

The SMART documentation is here: https://www.micron.com/~/media/documents/products/technical-note/solid-state-storage/tnfd22_client_s...

It's running out of spare blocks or the uncorrectable errorsf that you need to worry about.

For instance:

Regularly increasing values in 1, 5 and 196 would be cause for concern about drive health

Any erase and program fails would be down to wear and covered by the spare blocks - as long as they remain.

Anything in 199 would be indicative of a cabling fault.

Ah sorry, that's the Error Correct part I was referring to as being normal.  It's common practise in storage medium and networking and even TV broadcasting.  You can reduce costs and increase speed by allowing for small errors and being able to correct them than you can by aiming for guaranteed perfection.

As long as it's succeeding, as designed, your fine.  When it starts logging uncorrectable errors or Windows shows them (as CRC or I/O errors) - then you ahve a problem.

I got a new sound card today after mine failed on Saturday.  Works fine.  But it'll be a while before I fully trust it. Smiley Tongue

I get it Smiley Happy

As far as I can see ECC's are normal for BX100 operation, I mean its controller, Silicon Motion's SM2246EN, works and reports SMART data in a slightly different way than Marvell's controllers.

And I think Valid Spare Blocks are are the spare blocks that are available in case any other block would fail and should be replaced.

sew333, test your drive any way you want. chkdsk, HDTune error scan, benchmark it with the tools you like Smiley Happy

So i check in ERROR SCAN in HDTUNE and all fields are green, no errors in scan. So i guess its fine dont worry about this?
