Why $100 less for newer model?

I could not find any differences in the specs of these two SSD's that were big enough to account for the price difference. And what's more, the newer model is $100 less? So which one has the slightest advantage? I am picky about such things and even if I won't notice them running a high-end gaming rig, I would still relax better knowing I got the one that just that tiny bit better. Thanks for helpful replies.

The MX500 is the better model.

The reason for the price differtence is that they just get cheaper to make each new generation.  My first Crucial drive cost more for 64GB than the current 500GB drive.
