msecli doesn't work with LSI MegaRAID Controller

Hi,

I've installed a MX300 1050GB SSD on my LSI RAID controller.

I'm using CentOS 7 system on my server.

But it seems the msecli tool can't work with the LSI controller.

Log:

# msecli -L -n mraid0:0

Device Name : mraid0:0

Unable to get drive info data.

CMD_STATUS : Unable to find the specified drive
STATUS_CODE : 2

Re: msecli doesn't work with LSI MegaRAID Controller

Crucial are the consumer arm of Micron and the MX300 is a consumer (not enterprise) class drive.  I'm not sure how much experience people around here are going to have running these drives on enterprise class hardware and OS'?

If this is going to be a write heavy server, you're likely to find the TLC technology used in the MX300 is going to be a bit limiting for you too. Smiley Sad

Re: msecli doesn't work with LSI MegaRAID Controller

According to page 4 of the msecli manual located here, only one RAID controller is listed as supported.
