Verify if memory is genuine ?

Hi,

 

I recently brought crucial DDR3 for Mac. Attached the pics of same.

Can you please let me know how to find whether a product is genuine ?IMG_3790 (1).JPG

Looks legitamite to me, the DRAM chips also look to be Micron branded as well.

Sticker is the regular one as well.

Don't see any issues with this label and ram module.

label is not suffice to verify the genuineness of product.

I want manufacturer to validate it based on serial no.

Thank you for contacting us.  I apologize for the wait on a response.  We can see from the picture that you provided that the material number on this stick does match up with the part number as well as the extension number on the label.  We can also tell that the part does have genuine Micron chips which would further tell us that this is a legitimate Crucial product. 

 

That being said, if you are curious about the legitimacy of the product you are purchasing, we would recommend purchasing instead from an authorized reseller or directly from Crucial so that you are sure you are receiving confirmed legitimate parts. The Crucial warranty will only cover parts that are purchased from a valid reseller and will not carry from one person to the next.  Please let us know if you have further questions or concerns so that we can assist you further.
