Dell R710 memory mismatch?

Hi,

Dell R710 with 6 x 2GB Hynix 2GB 2Rx8 PC3-10600E-9-10-E0 installed and running fine.

Purchased 3 CT955744 24GB kit (8GBx3), 240-pin DIMM Upgrade for a Dell PowerEdge R710 System from Crucial.

I cannot get the 2 brands to boot the server, it errors with memory unconfigurable.

i have tried the recommended slot configurations (and a few others) but it wont have it.

Are these 2 different modules not compatible?

Re: Dell R710 memory mismatch?

I researched the ***Edit to remove Crucial competitor*** memory and I show that it's Unbuffered ECC. You may want to confirm this with the part number off the label of those modules. The memory you purchased from us is Registered ECC. The two cannot be mixed. If you were to install just the Crucial memory, my guess is that it would boot properly. The Dell PowerEdge R710 can handle both Registered and Unbuffered ECC modules just not at the same time. We do carry Unbuffered ECC modules for that server as well. Please view the link below.
