I ran the compatability check and order an addition 16gb of ram to either add to the current 8gb Samsung module (playing the RAM Gamble a bit) or just the new 16gb failing that. the Laptop is an ASUS ROG STRIX GL703G 8Gb
I added the 16gb in with the Samsung unit,no POST fromt the laptop, though to my self, no worry i'll run just 16gb, i knew the gamble. Opend up the laptop to expose both the SODIMMS slot (only one is accessable from the pannel) and installed just the 16Gb Module, still no post.
the advice im after is, is the crucial RAM i've purchased a DOA and should i send it back for replacment or is it a compability issue and i shoudl return and order a different RAM?
Advice on Compatable RAM is much apprciated

Does the BIOS/UEFI settings have any settings for the memory? Perhaps set them to Auto or Defaults.
I've heard that sometimes you need to reset the system BIOS when changing memory on some systems.
Is your laptop's BIOS firmware up to date?
