Total upgradability with soldered ram

I have an Asus x556uqk with 4gb soldered+4gb in the slot they run at 2133Mhz. The system supports 16gb and crucial scanning software suggest me a 16gb stick instead of an 8gb . I don't know if there is going to be a conflict with the soldered ram since 16gb + 4gb =20gb or if the 4gb soldered is going to stop working when I upgrade to 16gb. Please let me know if you have this upgradability problem

Re: Total upgradability with soldered ram

@Jpmacrae Thanks for contacting us. It looks like there are a few differnet models of the X556UQK out there and our system scanner is reading the model that has just one slot and no memory soldered to the board. Based on this information, I would advise just purchasing an 8GB memory module for your system. Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.
