The exact memory  match for a  netbook  (Emachines 350) I am considering buying is DDR2 PC2-5300. The alternative is

DDR2 PC2-6400,

Is there any advantage in going for the exact match,  or should I just buy the backward compatible DDR2 PC2-6400?

Re: Backward Compatible

Is the full model of your system actually eM-350?  If so, either module would work in the system, and you would have pretty close to the same performance.  I would recommend just going with the PC2-6400 part as it is a faster module, and right now they are the same cost.  Please see the following link for the memory for this system:
