is there any known issue with using a Crucial m4 with a Zalman VE300 enclosure?
the VE300 enclosure is fine, tested with a 250gb mechanical drive
moved the m4 into another drive enclosure, the m4 was fine
but together I get "bad or N/S HDD"
so why won't they work together? any suggestions?

so I used a backup secondary email to create this account, is there a forum admin here I could talk to? (i get Exception ID: 17E06E29 - when i try to verify)

I've never seen anyone post an issue - but that could just mean no-one was tried.
There's no reason it shouldn't work - it's just a sata drive.

I can't think of a reason why it shoud not work, but it doesn't
i'm also not sure if this is specific to the m4, or if it affacts other drives, I only have the m4 ssd to test

Yeah it's working in a standard enclosure,
it doesn't like the ve300 for some reason
I emailed zalman enquiring about this a few days ago, no reply yet, so i'll try again

I ended up replacing the m4 with an ***Edit to remove Crucial competitor***
it works YAY!
only USB2, not USB3! BOOOO!!!
other USB3 drives are fine, and I've updated USB3 drivers, so i'm not sure what else I can do
kind of defeats the purpose, buying an ssd only to end up using it on USB2

Sorry to revive an old topic but i'm having the same issue here.
Bought a ZM-VE300 and installed a Crucial M4 SSD 2.5 128Gb Sata drive.
On the display: bad or N/S HDD
