Firmware question

Hi Guys

I got my hands on a Dell Branded Micron RealSSD C400 drive and was told its a Crucial M4 (Micron C400). I would just like to know exactly where I am sapposed to get firmware for this drive or what firmware will work? Would the Crucial M4 2.5-inch firmware do the trick or do I need to get the Micron C400 firmware off Microns site?

Re: Firmware question

Hi wackyZa,

As the drive is Dell branded it would actually be Dell that would provide the firmware for the drive.  When the drives are branded by a different system builder they generally have their own proprietary firmware versions for the drive.

I would recommend checking what model of Dell the drive came from and then look up the Dell website for possible firmware updates.  We would not recommend installing either the Crucial or Micron firmware versions on the drive.
