I have the Gigabyte GA-990XA-UD3 rev. 1 mainboard and tried to get a 500 GB MX200 to run. Your webpage sais, it is compatible. However I get the nasty effect, that it only switches into the SATA 300 mode, reducing its speed to roughly 200Mb/sec read&write.
I get the information from crystal disk info.
This only happens, when I try to boot from or with it.
If I hotplug the device, it goes into the SATA 600 mode as specified, and behaves like that.
After a reboot it stays in that mode.
If I turn the box of and on again, it goes back to SATA 300 mode.
Well - no way to install windows on that. Windows boots, and ist is in SATA 300 mode
My system is a Gigabyte GA-990XA-UD3 rev. 1 mainboard, AMD 8350 CPU, 16 GB RAM, GeForce GTX 980
I'm running Windows 7 64 Bit and tried both the bare Microsoft and the AMD SATA / ACPI drivers.

Check for a BIOS update for the mainboard.

I have the same problem on a Supermicro server where I recently installed 2 of these. Both run with 3Gbps speeds when the board is capable of 6Gbps speeds.
Is there any way to force the 6Gbps speeds from within the OS using Linux?
