MX100 (512GB) - Apple OSX - TRIM?

Hi All,

Just a quick question which I hope can get a definitive answer.

I have a Macbook Pro (mid 2012) with OSX Mavericks 10.9.5

I know non-Apple installed SSDs do not have TRIM enabled by default under OSX.  However, this is easily remedied after a couple terminal commands.  So my MX100 now has TRIM support under OSX.

So the question is this, why would you not want TRIM enabled in OSX if you can?  I have seen people prefer to rely on the GC instead.

I don't think TRIM can hurt anything.  If you were to upgrade to Yosemite, then you have to disable certain security features to activate TRIM that might make your computer more vunerable.  That would be a good reason to not activate TRIM.  For Mavericks, TRIM should along side GC just fine.
