New SDD, Erase gives "Wiping volume data to prevent future accidental probing failed."

Hello

I have a new SSD from Crucial and I cannot Erase it.

Its an internal drive, I cannot erase via Recovery mode in Mac OSX nor booted into OSX from an external disk.

I keeping getting this error "Wiping volume data to prevent future accidental probing failed."

I am starting to think that my old SSD had not actually failed, but there is another issue. Perhaps the SATA cable?

If its the cable, where can I get one from?

I am using a late 2010 Macbook Pro.

Thanks

Jake

I can't help you with the problem (I've not seen it before) but you shouldn't be doing free space wipes on an SSD anyway.  It'll cause unnecasary drive wear.

I am not doing a free space wipe, it gives me that error for every type of wipe and partitioning action I try.
