@Crucial_Junket wrote: Hi front360, I'm sorry to hear that you are having problems with your SSD. I checked with our records and this is not a common problem that we have heard of. To help us establish the cause of the issue, could you please confirm as much of the information below as possible: - What issues are you having? *About twice a week, out of nowhere, while "surfing" the web or sitting idle, the laptop programs start to fail or become unresponsive one after the other, until all ends with a BSOD and on reboot the M4 has disappeared from BIOS. A "Power Cycle" almost always makes the SSD visible again. *The same thing always happens after I install/uninstall a large program/game or even just move/delete a large file. It just happened this past MS Patch Tuesday, after installing about ten updates. *This happens using both the MS AHCI driver or any of the Intel RST drivers. *I let the M4 sit overnight in BIOS so that Garbage Collection could do it's thing, but that doesn't help either. - How long has the drive been in use? *The current M4 is actually the third because I RMA'd the other two. This M4 2755 "Power On Hours" and 300 "Power On Count". - When did the problems first occur? *Within a few months for this M4 and the first M4, but the second M4 had problems immediately.(Probably because the second M4 was Refurbished.) - What is the SSD being used for? (O/S, Storage, Page File, etc.) *O/S, Storage, Page File - What is the SSD part number printed on the sticker (starting CT): *CT256M4SSD2 - Your exact system or motherboard model: *ASUS G73JH-RBBX05 laptop, Mobile HM55 Express Chipset, Mobile Intel 5 Series 4 Port SATA - Have you tried it in another system? *No other computer to try it in. - Your current BIOS revision: *BIOS 213 - Do you know your SATA speed (SATA-I 1.5Gb/s, SATA-II 3.0Gb/s, SATA-III 6Gb/s)? *SATA-II 3.0Gb/s - Operating system: *Clean Install of Windows 8 x64 Pro, and same results when I used Windows 7 x64. - What color or number is the SATA port the drive cable is connected to (Desktop users only)? - Have you tried different SATA cables (Desktop users only)? - Have you tried different SATA ports (Desktop users only)? - Do you have more than one bay for hard drives/SSD's and have you tried the different bays (Laptop users only)? *Yes, I tried the M4 in the other bay and this didn't help. - What Firmware version is printed on the sticker on the drive? *0309 - Have you upgraded this and if so, what is the current version? *Yes, 070H - What BIOS SATA mode are you using (IDE/ AHCI/ RAID)? *AHCI - Do you have screen shots available (if relevant)? *Yes, the first SS is the SMART data a little after I started using it, and the second SS shows the current SMART data of my third M4. Once we have the above information we can look in to what is causing the problems. @Crucial_Junket , Can you supply me with some of the common problems that you have heard of? Can you also let me know what will be fixed in the next update to the M4 Firmware? Thanks in advance, Don
