I would try reseating the RAM again making sure it is fully inserted into the slot before you press down on it to lock it into place. You could also blow some compressed air at the slot in case it might have dust & dirt built up in it from being empty. If you have never installed memory in a laptop before, then you may want to watch a video to see the angle the memory needs to be in relation to the slot when you insert it. If this doesn't help, then contact Crucial tech support directly so they can verify you have the correct memory and perhaps get it replaced if is defective.
