I recently upgraded my laptop from a convential hard drive to a MX500 1 TB I found the following. -During the cloneing process it got very warm in the case I had it in so I took it out as the adaptor was not conneced to the case and it cooled down a lot. - Now installed the computer feels just as warm on normal use as it did with the old hard drive. - Battery now last an extra hour (instead of 1hr 30 it is now 2hrs 30) this surprised me as I just thought it would have given me pore than that - The computer runs much faster now instead of taking a good 5 mins to boot up from scratch and be usable it now takes about 20secs. Im assuming this is pretty standard with 1TB SSD's but I was a bit suprised with the heat thing. Fortunately I dont do heavy stuff with my computer just Surfing the internet banking and emails but I wondered what would happen to the temp if I was a gamer or something like that. Has Crucial made any statements about the temperature of their drives etc.
